Day 19

The Dread Virus has everyone talking about the moral impact of personal decisions. Not since Season 1 of The Good Place have we had such an intense social conversation about ethics.

As I've heard it explained, we're having to choose between Grandma and the economy, and it says something good about us that we're choosing Grandma.

Granted, Grandma's the one with something to speak of in her investment account, so I suppose it's win/lose for her no matter what.

In other news, there are little leaves now, on most of the trees. That's a development since the beginning of Isolation Days. The tulips have bloomed, as have the cherries and the neighborhood magnolias. The soil seems to have warmed up a few degrees. For many farmers that means it's time to plant. For us it means ants showing a sudden interest in our cooking. Yes. Ants have happened. Which brings us right back to those old moral quandaries.

Sadly for the ants, they don't have a plan for social distancing, and I can't tell the grandmas from the rest.
